QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL FREESTYLE SESSIONS ARE DETERMINED BY U.S. FIGURE SKATING STANDARD FREESKATE TEST PASSED (UNLESS STATED BELOW) BALLET CLASS 1 & 2: (Ballet) A class designed for figure skaters of all levels. The instructor will start to advance ballet 1 skills and work towards a level II syllabus. Classes are held in the Ballet Room. OPEN SPEEDSKATING SESSION: (OPEN SPEED SKATING SESSION) GEAR Required: PRELIMINARY-SR FREESKATE: (Preliminary -Senior Freeskate) Skaters who have passed Preliminary Freeskate and above. Adult skaters who have passed Adult Silver Freeskate test or higher. Dancers who have passed all the Bronze dances and above. BALLET 1: (Ballet 1) Open to all skating levels. All ages welcome. Ballet experience not necessary. Classes held in the Ice Den's Party Room. Skaters must have ballet slippers. Mandatory ballet or skating attire only. Girl's hair must be tied back, bun recommended. Class will emphasize standard basic ballet positions, simple combinations, musicality, and will be structured to assist figure skaters with correctness of posture, balance and head/arm positions. Classes taught by Jaclyn Levine.Skaters must wear a face covering for this class. BALLET 2: (Ballet 2) A class designed for figure skaters of all levels. The instructor will continue to advance ballet I skills. Classes are held in the Ice Den's Party room. Skaters must have ballet slippers. Mandatory ballet or skating attire only. Girls hair must be tied back, bun recommended. Class will emphasize more complex combinations, and coordination, musicality, stretch and strength, extensions and control along with further developing standard basic ballet positions and will be structured to assist figure skaters with correctness of posture, balance and head-arm positions. Classes taught by Jaclyn Levine.Skaters must wear a face covering for this class. EXTREME STRETCH: (Extreme Stretch) A class designed for figure skaters of all levels. Taught by Jaclyn Levine. This class will focus on stretching and flexibility for figure skaters. Stretches and core work will be the focus of the class, working towards the positions needed for skating (ex. Biellmann, Sasha, spirals, lay backs etc.) A yoga mat is mandatory- please! Classes held in the Ice Den's Party room.Skaters must wear a face covering for this class. ICE CAFE-ADULTS ONLY: (ICE CAFE-ADULTS ONLY) This is an adult-only social skating program offered exclusively for skaters 18 years and older. Ice Cafe is open to beginner and recreational skaters or those wanting to brush up on their current skills. OFF-ICE JUMPS 1 & 2: (OFF-ICE JUMPS 1 & 2) For all skaters working on single jumps, axel through double jumps. Classes held in the Ice Den's Party room. Skating or exercise attire only. Training shoes (sneakers, running shoes) are mandatory. Classes will focus on jumping techniques, rotation and landing positions. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches.Skaters must wear a face covering for this class. OPEN DANCE SESSION: (OPEN DANCE SESSION) FOR ALL SKATERS WORKING ON SOLO DANCES AND DANCE TESTS. SYNCHRO SKILLS CLASS: (SYNCHRO SKILLS CLASS) This 60 minute class is designed for all synchronized skating team members and for skaters wishing to learn synchro skills. ASU FREESTYLE SESSION: (ASU FREESTYLE SESSION) THIS SESSION IS DESIGNATED FOR THE ARIZONA STATE COMPETITIVE FIGURE SKATING TEAM ONLY. KIKI OWEN'S FS: (KIKI OWEN'S FREESTYLE) These sessions are designated to college figure skaters by invite only from Kiki Owens. SPECIALTY CLASS 4:30-5:00: (SPECIALTY CLASS 4:30-5:00 PM) For all skaters passed Basic Skills Level 6 and above. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches. SPECIALTY CLASS 5:00-5:30: (SPECIALTY CLASS 5:00-5:30 PM) For all skaters passed Basic Skills Level 6 and above. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches. SPECIALTY CLASS 4:30-5:30: (SPECIALTY CLASS 4:30-5:30 PM) For all skaters passed Basic Skills Level 6 and above. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches. SPECIALTY 10:30-11:00 : (SPECIALTY CLASS 10:30-11:00 AM) Open to anyone Basic Skills 6 and above. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches. SPECIALTY 11:00-11:30: (SPECIALTY CLASS 11:00-11:30 AM) Open to anyone Basic Skills 6 and above. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches. SPECIALTY 10:30-11:30: (SPECIALTY CLASS 10:30-11:30 AM) Open to anyone Basic Skills 6 and above. Taught by Ice Den PSA Rated coaches. SYNCHRO CLINIC- OPEN JUV-: (SYNCHRO CLINIC- OPEN JUV-INTERM) These classes are for skaters that are hoping to be on our competitive sectional bound Open Juvenile and Intermediate teams next season. These classes will focus on skills, edge work, planned program elements, choreography, and components. These clinics are essential to maintain and refine synchro skills for current and interested team members as we develop teams for next season. Those who participate will find the clinics helpful in preparing for tryouts which will happen in the spring as well as in learning new choreography and skills needed for a successful sectional debut. All skaters must be working on pre-juvenile moves and up or have permission from synchro coaching team. Masks and gloves are required. SYNCHRO CLINICS: (SYNCHRO CLINICS) These classes are for all skaters interested in synchro either competitively or for recreational. All previous members and new members are encouraged to join. These classes will focus on musicality, guiding, formations, choreography, and will be a lot of fun. All skaters must be basic 5 and up. We will split groups according to levels. All participants must have their own skates. Masks and gloves are required. OPEN FS: (Open Freeskate) Open to all skaters passed Basic 6 and above. Skaters lower than Basic 6, must be accompanied by a coach for at least a portion of the freestyle session. Hide |
